Lacéne

“Abundance In Amity”

“Peaceful? Aye, to the point of self-endangerment. Do their
peaceful ways protect them when Viktor vun Zhadra’s host
returns every ten years to sack their towns and claim
their fields? No. Lacéne are reliant on a better nation’s
shields, always. One day they’ll not get them.”
Jurn il’Gastin, Paladori Knight

“Lush Lacéne” is a land rarely contested for over the centuries, which may sound surprising due to its ample resources. But the truth of the matter is that all neighboring nations rely on Lacéne’s abundant crop yields, and each would suffer if a more belligerent kingdom claimed this land, so it has remained within the protective arms of its respective neighbors for many years. Its treaties with Palador especially have lasted over seven centuries, which is a good thing: Duke Viktor vun Zhadra of the Black Wolf Duchy has long claimed Lacénean territories by right of marriage, and were it not for Palador’s fast friendship, Lacéne would have been invaded by Zhadran forces more than just the one failed assault a few years back. Palador is considered a friendly rival, whilst Zhadra is considered… not quite so friendly.

Cathrais

Cathrais was founded in 694 SVC, naming its leader by the holy title “Parfait” (which continues within the church to this day).

Chevrer Passe

This mountain pass (literally “Goatherd Pass”) is said to have held a Nexus portal that led to locale in Switzerland called Gotthard Pass, and was responsible for the occasional Swiss farmer arriving in the Otherrealm. No one can say if it remains active at all.

Des Jardin

A sprawling mill town on the shores of Summer Lake, in northern Lacéne. It is governed by a Council of Tradesmen, one of which is Darul Olovar, father of Vaille and Varael…
Olovar, Darul: Chair of the Miller’s Guild
Olovar, Mariene: Darul’s wife; Mariene is half-fae
Olovar, Rovaughn: Eldest child and the Olovar heir

The capital city of Lacéne, known for its wealth, style, and art. Fashion rivalries between Talaire and Palador’s capital Courescent are traditionally bitter (as bitter as a couture war can be).
