Shávaho

Dinébi for “Sun-peoples”, this nation is a desert confederation of loosely-organized tribes that–in each their own way–eke out their own existences in the harsh environs of the Bleak Buttes. Much of Shávaho’s wealth is consolidated at the Lucky Strike Oasis, which in itself is a source of contention within the Shávaho natives.

Bleak Buttes: A particularly harsh stretch of arid mountain country.
Dreaming Desert: Called the “Painted Plain” by some who have beheld its desolate majesty, magic is said to flow strongly through the colored valleys of this northern portion of Shávaho.
Lucky Strike Oasis: (from Quivira, one of seven legendary cities of gold) Called Qivira-Kinhala (Kinhala means “City” in the Dinébi tongue), this oasis in the middle of the desert sprung up from one of (allegedly) seven cities of gold located in Varsa. These days, however, Qivira-Kinhala is a tourist trap that specializes in a variety of pastimes that in other lands would be considered highly illegal. (Is this the Gold Saucer? Why yes, it’s the Gold Saucer. There’s even ostrich racing. Yee-Haw!)
